Angel has been part of our TEAM since 2012 through the H2B program as a Lawn Maintenance Supervisor. He enjoys teaching his TEAM the proper way to manage larger properties.

Angel lives in Mexico with his wife Maria and two children. He enjoys chicken and tacos, basketball, and exercising.

Howard Rose joined BCLS as the Chief Operating Officer in September of 2013 after an eighteen-year career at a national retail chain serving as Senior Vice President of Real Estate. While managing all of the day to day operations at BCLS from landscape management, to design-build, and corporate governance, Howard successfully motivates and drives the company’s direction.

Howard is forward-thinking with an “employee first” mindset, and this attitude spills over into our company culture. He has said, “There is a pretty good chance most of my employees won’t retire while working for BCLS, so my goal is for everyone to grow personally and professionally from their association with BCLS!”

Howard holds a Class A contractor’s license for the Commonwealth of Virginia as well as a commercial pesticide certification for Core, 3A and 3B classifications. A sales associate at heart, Howard frequently attends sales calls and will not hesitate to help on projects, no matter the size.

Jim joined the BCLS TEAM in 2019 as our Construction Field Operations Manager. Jim’s job will take him all over the Richmond area to help our Hardscape and Installation TEAMS.

Jim likes to spend his free time with his family and friends, and his favorite food is pasta.

Steven Cohen is the Chief Visionary Officer of PrimeSites Landscape Group Holdings, LLC and a principal in GreenMark Consulting Group–a leading landscape and snow business management consulting firm with clients throughout North America. He is a business management strategist with a sound understanding of organizational and process development and a skilled communicator with over 30 years of experience providing landscape-snow companies with successful solutions in building organizational success. A persuasive negotiator, Steven uses integrity and professionalism in presenting market growth strategies, assessing new business opportunities, and ways to continually improve an organizations performance metrics.

Steven is an innovative thinker who creates efficient ways of growing companies by recommending new service verticals, revolutionizing current service offerings, and testing new market approaches. He uses his extensive industry expertise to help companies develop a highly focused and communicative customer-centric business model. Steven has extensive experience in landscape management, landscape construction and site development and snow & Ice management. Steven writes for national landscape publications, is a featured speaker at various landscape associations, and conducts a course named ‘The 4-Cores for Landscape Business Success’.

A father of four, two sons and two daughters, Steven and his wife Melannie Huber-Cohen reside in Richmond’s West End. Steven enjoys boating, traveling to new tropical islands, and sandy white beaches.

Andres joined BCLS Landscape Services in 2012 and is here every Spring and Summer through the H2B program. A hard working and dedicated supervisor, Andres loves to see his TEAM learn new ways to maintain commercial landscapes and loves nature.

In the Fall, Andres returns to Veracruz where he enjoys spending time with his 3 kids. He also likes to watch MMA and his favorite food is meatballs.

Carlos Salinas has been with BCLS since 2010, where he started out as the District Manager for our Fredericksburg, VA office. Carlos’ passion for customer service, operations management, and employee relations has allowed him to promote within the BCLS organization.

His daily responsibilities include the management of the maintenance department where he oversees six maintenance crews comprised of thirty-five TEAM members, and managing several hundred properties in the central Virginia area. Carlos works hard to support BCLS’s approach to landscape management which is proactive customer service vs. reactive customer service. Carlos is also ICPI Certified for hardscape installations.

Field Operations Manager, Fredericksburg

Danny rejoined BCLS Landscape Services Fredericksburg TEAM as our Field Operations Manager in 2020.

A solid landscape manager who takes personal satisfaction in producing quality work. Donnie has 10+ years of experience landscape management and business development. Donnie leads several landscape management crews for BCLS Landscape Services and takes care of a portfolio that includes clients such as the Diamond, home of the Richmond Flying Squirrels the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. Donnie strives to keep his accounts looking pristine and on budget, while assuring that his crews are trained to exceed his customers’ expectations.

On Donnie’s off hours his passion includes the NY Yankees, camping, fishing and all sports. Donnie is married to his beautiful wife Mandy and resides in Chesterfield, VA.

Jay joined the BCLS TEAM in 2017 as a Lawn Maintenance Supervisor at our Fredericksburg office. A graduate of Elon University, Jay’s favorite part of being a TEAM member is the teamwork and the chance to enjoy nature.

Jay is a resident of Spotsylvania, and has one daughter. He enjoys playing golf, watching sports, and enjoying a good steak or pizza.

Botello is part of our H2B program and has spent his Spring through Fall here in Ashland since 2012. What he likes best about working at BCLS is the hardworking people, top equipment, and organized staff.

Botello lives in Puebla, Mexico in the winter with his wife Maria and five children. He enjoys basketball, BBQ, and going to the hot springs.

Mark has been with us for several years, starting as a Landscape Management Supervisor. The Virginia Tech graduate was recently promoted to Field Operations Manager for the Richmond area.

A Richmond resident, Mark has a passion for BBQ, and most Italian food. He enjoys watching soccer and traveling in his free time.

Rey, as he is known to us at BCLS, runs our fleet department. He has been with the company for over 10 years. We always say, “If it’s broken, Rey can repair it or rebuild it!” Rey is like family to us and his commitment to the organization is unwavering. A tireless TEAM member, it’s not unusual for us to have to tell Rey to go home and get some rest.

When Rey is not working at BCLS during the Winter, he is back home in Mexico repairing cars and equipment and managing his orange grove which spans over several acres. Rey sells the fruit he produces at local farmers’ markets.

Thomas joined BCLS Landscape Services in 2019 as our Field Operations Manager. Thomas joined our TEAM to provide himself with a better future.

You can find Thomas mountain biking, watching football and soccer. He hates dirty trucks or rooms, and his favorite candy bar is Milky Ways.

Broun joined BCLS Landscape Services in August of 2018 as a Business Development Associate. A Richmond native, he attended the Collegiate School through graduation and went on to Hampden-Sydney College where he earned his bachelors in History.

In Broun’s free time, he enjoys being outdoors as much as possible, playing tennis, golfing, and hiking.

Melannie is always bright, personable and ready to help. She plays a key role in the BCLS organization by coordinating the oversight of all internal operations. Because of her experience in the industry, she has an excellent understanding of the needs of a diverse landscape company. A motivated and an experienced problem-solver, Melannie brings over ten years of office management and finance knowledge. Melannie has a degree in Business Finance from American University in Washington D.C.

Melannie resides in the West-End with her husband, Steven Cohen, and daughters Baylee and Maya. Melannie also has two older sons who reside in Virginia. When not working,she enjoys traveling to warm tropical destinations.

Jordan joined BCLS Landscape Services in 2019 and is our Fleet and Safety Manager. A hard working and dedicated supervisor, Jordan will be overseeing the management and upkeep of our equipment.

Jordan and his wife Marie have 3 children, and the dedicated Philadelphia Eagles fan  spends his off time in the outdoors.
