Scope Of Work

Nicor Gas is an energy company headquartered in Naperville, Illinois. Its largest subsidiary, Nicor Gas, is a natural gas distribution company. Founded in 1954, the company serves more than two million customers in 641 communities, and a service territory that encompasses most of the northern third of Illinois, excluding the city of Chicago. Nicor has 32,000 miles (51,000 km) of pipelines, with an annual sendout which exceeds 5000Bcf and a designed peak day delivery of 5.2Bcf.

Milhouse began work with Nicor Gas in 2013 to provide issued-for-construction drawings for various gas main replacement projects. A majority of these projects are for Nicor’s Investing in Illinois program, which aims to accelerate the replacement of old cast iron and bare steel main. Milhouse works with Nicor to complete 25+ miles of main replacement projects each year. Milhouse completes designs for public improvement projects that may require gas main relocation. The public improvement projects require Milhouse to work with other design firms to resolve potential gas main conflicts thus saving Nicor money. Milhouse also provided engineering services for pressure improvement projects, vault repair/replacement projects, and large main horizontal directional drilling projects.
