Scope Of Work

Chase Center Arena is the newest addition to Mission Bay in San Francisco.  The state-of-the-art sports and entertainment center will feature 18,000 seats and will host approximately 200 events annually. The mixed-use development was designed by MANICA Architecture and Kendall Heaton Architects with construction being managed by Mortenson Clark Joint Venture. The arena will also have 100,000 feet of retail space, a 35,000 square foot plaza and a 5 ½ acre bayfront park.

Enclos was awarded the design-assist, glazing and installation of the arena. The Enclos team fabricated and installed 160,000 square feet of rain-screen mega-panels and secondary structure. The design of the arena consists of 14 drums, which differ in size. Each drum stacks on top of another drum resulting in all mega-panels being unique. Each individual metal panel within the mega-panel is unique consisting of roughly 7,500 panels. The mega-panels hang from a secondary steel structure utilizing unique trusses, transoms, and custom anchors to the primary structure. The façade includes a total of 40,000 square feet of curtainwall on architecturally exposed structural steel (AESS) with an additional 5,000 square feet of storefront on AESS. Materials were procured both domestically and internationally.

The Arena is being constructed as part of a larger mixed-use development, including the Office Towers and Gatehouse, which created a congested job site that demanded supreme coordination to enable the project teams to work alongside one another to efficiently and safely execute the construction.

When complete, the arena will be the new home to the Golden State Warriors and is on schedule to open September 2019 in time for the NBA season. The project has been designed to achieve LEED Gold certification.
