Scope Of Work
This five-story, 116,000 SF student residence and dining hall complex creates a student-centered hub for the campus featuring housing for approximately 400 students, community lounges, study spaces, recreational areas, a 16,600 SF dining hall, and laundry facilities.
Working closely with the architect and owner early on in the design phase, this Design-Build delivery led to a paucity of RFIs, resulting in fewer than half the typical amount generated on a comparable student housing project. Constructability reviews in the preconstruction phase resulted in early detection of potential errors.
Through collaboration with all stakeholders, effective contract buyouts and efficient trade contractor communication, this project was completed under budget. Bernards shared the significant cost savings with the owner.
