Scope Of Work

The project involved the complete remodel of an existing 2,400 SF store to reflect the client’s new prototype and brand design. Important considerations included an elaborate storefront and complexity of the various ceiling elements in the design. Our scope of work included a new storefront along two sides as well as interior finish-out which included finish carpentry/fix install, millwork, doors/frames/hardware, windows/glass/glazing, drywall/framing/acoustical, resilient flooring/ base, carpeting, wood flooring with contrasting inlays, painting/wall covering, MEP/HVAC, fire sprinklers, fire alarm and air balance. The project was completed in two phases to minimize disruption to daily operations. An interior temporary partition was constructed to divide the existing store into two sections allowing one section of the store to remain open for business while the other was undergoing construction. When one side was completed, retail operations moved into the newly renovated space allowing the remaining space to be remodeled. Westwood Contractors successfully maintained a clean open store environment throughout the duration of the two phases and carefully managed the complexity of MEP systems to ensure all were functioning properly in the operating portion of the store at all times. This allowed REED’s to maintain its store sales and budget throughout the course of the renovation with minimal impact. Once both spaces were renovated, the store was closed for a brief transition period while temporary partition was removed and the two spaces were seamlessly combined into a single retail space.

The entire project duration was approximately 13 weeks and was completed in April 2016.
