Project Information

- VA
- Status:

Scope Of Work
Construction of a New Addition of approximately 12,000 SF to the Existing Church Building. The addition features a Fellowship Hall with Stage, Kitchen, (2) Classrooms, Restrooms, and Showers.
The Addition Build-Out consists of a Steel Structural Frame with Structural Light Gauge Framing Load Bearing Exterior Walls and Interior Walls. As for the Finishes the building façade displays large Storefronts that provide plenty of natural light to the classrooms and connecting hallway. It also displays a combination of lap and vertical siding, Brick Water Table to match the existing building walls, Standing Seam Metal Roof and TPO flat area, GFRC Decorative Cornice throughout the top of the building, and a building entrance porch featuring 2 GFRC Decorative Columns.
Mather Architects AIA, Olde Red General Contracting, and a construction committee representing Grace United Methodist Church worked together from the design stage to achieve a design that met their financial position while providing enough flexibility that would allow the church if desired, the option to add a 2nd level that would double the Building’s Classroom Area.
The Construction execution was coordinated in a way that allowed for the regular operation of the church to continue without interruption including the sensitive and safety day to day work of their Pre-School which resided next to the build-out of the Addition to the Building.
