Scope Of Work
Yates Construction and our joint venture partner provided construction services for the National Alabama Corporation manufacturing facility in Cherokee, Alabama, located on a 640-acre site. This 2.2 million SF facility consists of a 350 by 4,200 foot manufacturing facility, a 120,000 SF administration building, two 20,000 SF employee facilities, and a 250-car rail yard. The project required 2.9 million cubic yards of earth to be moved, erected 25,000 tons of structural steel and metals, and 75,000 cubic yards of poured concrete. The plant is the single largest rail car manufacturing facility in North America and the largest facility to be registered under the LEED® Green Building Rating System with a goal of achieving LEED® Silver Certification.
