Scope Of Work
Orion began construction on the 27,000 sq. ft. warehouse and corporate office in October 2018. The project involved extensive sitework, rezoning, and fundraising components prior to the groundbreaking. The two-story building sits on a 15-acre site purchased in 2017 by Orion Real Estate Solutions and later transferred to Kids Food Basket.
The project scope included extensive site work, removal of unsalvageable structures on site, new construction of a “Green-Built” warehouse and attached corporate office, greenhouses, and workshop/classroom space. Re-routing of public sidewalks and expansion of public roads were also included in this scope of work.
Construction was completed on time and on budget. On-site recycling programs, waste diversion systems, high-efficiency building insulation systems, heating/cooling systems, plumbing systems, and low-VOC (volatile organic compounds) paints, adhesives, and floor coverings were all focal points for acquiring the LEED points necessary for certification.
