Scope Of Work

Crowder was selected by Methane Power for this energy recovery project while still in its infant stages. The project created a public/private partnership between the private investor who provided the funding, and the City of Durham who owned the landfill. Crowder provided pre-construction and construction services including but not limited to the following: installed gas conditioning & cleaning skid to interface with existing collection flare & compression system, installed three 1.1 MW GE Jenbacher 320 units with spark ignite engines, gas treatment system that included moisture removal & particulate filtration, interface of a SCADA & monitoring system for the entire facility.

The jobsite was less than ½ acres with a work force of 15 people required. After construction began the decision was made to compress the schedule requiring additional field and office staff creating even tighter working conditions. Every member of the project team worked diligently to keep lines of communication open and coordinated closely to make this project a tremendous success. Crowder was involved in all aspects of detailed design, permitting, construction and equipment installation. The project was completed ahead of schedule and within budget. As the sole source contractor, Crowder self-performed approximately 90% of the work.
