Scope Of Work
Amidst a unique year full of its own circumstances, Mortenson and Pacific Hospitality Group brought this hotel to life, on time and on budget. With the ground breaking in March 2020, the 238-room, eight-story Hyatt Place hotel opened in September 2021, bringing the brand's intuitive design, casual atmosphere and practical amenities to the Phoenix area. The hotel emulates the art deco design of the surrounding architecture, located adjacent to the Orpheum Theater and features many amenities including a breakfast bar, market, custom lobby and bar with an outdoor patio, more than 4,000 square feet of event spaces and a fitness center.
The hotel is located just blocks away from the Phoenix Convention Center and nearby to an array of downtown Phoenix attractions like Chase Field, Talking Stick Resort Arena, Phoenix Art Museum, shopping and restaurants, and only a few miles away from Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport.
As a co-developer and builder for the hotel, this is Mortenson's second Hyatt-flagged hotel in the Valley, as well as the second hospitality development in downtown Phoenix for the firm, second to the Hampton Inn and Suites located at Polk Street and 1st Street.
