Our Story

Creative Flooring started in 1995 by John Rosner.

The Rug Shop service was founded first. I started as many businesses do, I attended a training course and bought all the equipment, including a binding machine, and went around to local carpet stores and simply asked them if they needed any binding work. Then I would go to their warehouse and bind up rugs. I had a used mini van that I took all the seats out and would use to deliver. Over time we got enough business that I was able to hire and train technicians, and eventually rent space for the growing business.

We added the Flooring Removal services as I needed to support my growing family. I soon found out that many customers were wanting a local contractor to remove carpet, grind floors, polish and stain concrete. I wanted to be able to satisfy the needs of my customers, so I trained myself and my employees up in those skills so I could offer those services as well.

Throughout the years we have always tried to be in tune with the needs of the industry and our customers. We have adopted new skills and services in both the Rug Shop, and our Flooring Removal services. Even now, we are continuing to grow in concrete polishing and staining & resinous flooring services as it grows in demand. In 2019 we brought on an industry expert in coatings from PPG.  Mike Simone is a N.A.C.E. Level II certified coatings inspector that has 25 years experience in the industry and is equipped with the ability to write and review specifications.

We provide unique services primarily serving commercial and institutional properties:

Flooring removal service – One of the hardest parts in a commercial remodeling project is the removal of the old flooring. We have the crews and equipment to take up any floor quickly and consistently. We scrape up the adhesives as well as the flooring and we help keep the flooring demolition project on schedule. Carpet, vinyl tiles, wood or ceramic, no job is too tough for us.

Concrete Preparation – Concrete grinding, shot blasting: Slab curl, un-level floors or old adhesives deep into the pores of the concrete require either diamond grinding or shot blasting. We are your resource to get it done with the right equipment.

Concrete Finishes – Stained and polished concrete from matte finishes to mirror like high gloss finishes.  We also offer epoxy coatings, from extra heavy duty fork lift rated floors to granite quartz floors. If you just want a warehouse floor cleaned and re-sealed, we can do that as well.

Identifying Flatness on Commercial Floors – We can measure the flatness of your floor with our lase level machine.  If your floor has a lot of variation, we can draw out the high and low spots so you can easily identify where and how you want to correct it.
