Scope Of Work

Positioned prominently along State Route 14 for a decade, the third-generation Dickerson family-owned Westlie Ford dealership was ready for a remodel to sharpen its competitive edge. Operating from a 25,000-sq ft property owned by the Port of CamasWashougal, the project required innovative planning and partnership including year-long lease negotiations. The Port pursued an exterior upgrade, complicated by an adjoining boat storage structure facing chronic leaks. Meanwhile, Westlie pursued plans to modernize the interior while building a top-quality maintenance facility. In the face of deal-killing estimates from public sector providers, RSV proposed an innovative solution featuring a roof replacement and vastly improved gutter system. Then, we designed two separate bid packages, and successfully competed in the public bid process for the Port’s work. The approach achieved structural requirements while improving the attractive window walls necessary for dealership curb appeal. It also brought the building up to fire code through sprinkler installation and upgraded the HVAC system. The $2 million construction projects were completed simultaneously with full support of both parties. The result: Westlie Ford is operating its full-service dealership from a refreshed property at the Port of Camas-Washougal, which owns an improved building and a renewed long-term lease agreement.
