Scope Of Work
California Filtration Specialists has partnered with Whitson CM and NAVFAC to develop a Hybrid LID Filtration System designed to reduce metal discharges to below the TMDL (Total Maximum Daily Load) limits of San Diego Bay and Pearl Harbor. These metal discharge limits are typically met by implementing very expensive filtration systems that are also costly to maintain. This Hybrid LID system combines technologies and costs less than $260,000 installed (approximately 25% of the competitions' costs). This system incorporates FocalPoint HPMBS (High Performance Modular Biofiltration System) to treat stormwater runoff before the discharge enters into a vault filter containing Bone Char and FS-50. In addition, this system incorporates electronic monitoring equipment that will remotely monitor flows and capture stormwater samples for testing. Below the FocalPoint is an R-Tank modular storage tank system that captures water that will be used as irrigation water to maintain the vegetation planted in the FocalPoint system.
