Scope Of Work
Blain’s Farm & Fleet was transitioning to a new prototype building design. FoxArneson was selected as the design+build contractor and tasked with adapting the new prototype into a code-compliant facility that would serve as the preferred Blain’s Farm & Fleet store design moving forward.
A significant challenge to overcome in completing this project was to accommodate Blain’s numerous building requirements into the new design prototype. For example, FoxArneson needed to incorporate the use of a specific pre-engineered structural steel framing system into the building that is wrapped in the final structure’s precast concrete wall panels. Working directly with the Blain’s preferred steel supplier, FoxArneson was able to source and successfully integrate the necessary system into the building design to meet the client’s need.
The project also faced some significant weather constraints which put the project’s overall timeline at risk. FoxArneson worked closely with the project team to coordinate some of the structure’s concrete work to be performed ahead of schedule in order to expedite the build process and successfully enclose the building before winter.
Additionally, since Blain’s contracts directly with a number of prime contractors, FoxArneson was hired to lead the implementation of the new prototype—overseeing all construction operations including all subcontractors and their activities. Ultimately, from project inception to completion, the process went smoothly, and FoxArneson delivered the facility that Blain’s Farm & Fleet desired and expected on time and on budget.
