Scope Of Work
Bell is performing the Mechanical and Plumbing component of United Therapeutics' 215,000 SF Headquarters expansion located in downtown Silver Spring, Maryland. This is Phase Three of the project, which will culminate in an expanded HQ building, connection to the UT manufacturing facility, and parking, retail, and outdoor upgrades and finishes. When complete, the LEED Gold-certified facility will operate on Net Zero Energy: the amount of electrical and thermal energy consumed will be renewably generated on-site throughout the course of the year. To achieve this ambitious goal, the cutting-edge facility will include various sustainable features including photovoltaic panels, geothermal wells, a high-performance electrochromic curtainwall, earth-coupled heating/cooling system, natural ventilation, daylight harvesting, and a thermal pool.
