Scope Of Work
The 98,000 SF structural steel and metal framed complex includes a 500-seat, 14,000 SF theater with orchestra pit, a school library, and an historic museum. Designed to replace the historic Robins Hall and Loats Theater buildings, this project features a 500-seat theater with accompanying black box, music and choral classrooms; science classrooms; a library, kitchen, and museum; and administrative offices. Large light fixtures were saved from the original building and installed in the theater lobby and library. The complex was crowned with a 99-foot tall re-creation of the original Gothic Bell Tower.
Despite extensive owner-directed design revisions which protracted the construction schedule, the Bernards team facilitated student and staff occupancy of new portions of the campus as required. Through strategic coordination of all contract and additional activities–in the midst of an active campus–this project was completed on time and on budget.
Site work for this project included covered atrium seating for an outdoor lunch area and a re-designed courtyard with new stairs, seat walls, planters and trees.
