Scope Of Work
Bernards restored 631 1950s-era apartments in 45 original mid-century buildings and upgraded the complex to 21st-century standards of sustainability, comfort, safety, and ADA accessibility. In addition, we built 99 new apartment units on three vacant lots with a new 5,000 SF leasing center and clubhouse featuring a resort-style pool with underwater music, cabanas, a fire pit, a rooftop entertainment deck with spectacular views, a two-story fitness center with outdoor workout space, an internet café, and a central green for community gatherings.
Bernards demonstrated that historic rehabilitation and new construction can co-exist harmoniously. Listed on the National and California Registers of Historic Places, Lincoln Place was restored and modernized in accordance with the Secretary of Interior’s Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties. The Project received a 2015 Conservancy Preservation Award from the Los Angeles Conservancy.
