Scope Of Work

EMERGENCY REPLACEMENT OF FAILED OBSOLETE EDWARDS 5721B AND ASSOCIATED OBSOLETE DEVICES. NEW SYSTEM TO BE A FULLY ADDRESSABLE, EXPANDABLE FIRE CONTROL PANEL.

RE-USE EXISTING MC CABLE AS SLC FOR NEW ADDRESSABLE INITIATING, INPUT, AND OUTPUT DEVICES.  

RE-USE EXISTING MC CABLE TO ESTABLISHED BUILDING AUTOMATION CONTROLS FOR FAN SHUTDOWN & AUTOMATIC DOOR OVERRIDE.

RE-USE EXISTING MC CABLE TO ALL CHIME LOCATIONS.  

RING OUT ALL CIRCUITS AND VERIFY FREE OF GROUNDS, OPENS, SHORTS, AND FAULTS.

ADD CONTACT ID MONITORING FOR POINT-BY-POINT CENTRAL STATION REPORTING AND PRETEST PRIOR TO AHJ ACCEPTANCE TEST.

· All specialty cable with labor to pull
· Equipment per scope of work Including standard electrical boxes, hangers, and conduit stubs
· Terminations of devices provided by Cal-West Fire Alarm Service
· Terminations of equipment provided by Cal-West Fire Alarm Service
· Factory trained technician to test, and certify the system
· Specialty back boxes for Cal-West Fire Alarm Service provided material
· Equipment supplied by Cal-West Fire Alarm Service will be warranted as per general terms and
  conditions of contract specifications
· Plan check and permit fee’s - Cesar
· All programming to provide an operational system (excludes phased projects)
· Standard freight and sales tax
· Operation and maintenance manuals
· As-built drawings
· Engineered shop drawings and submittals.  Shop drawings AND submittals to be provided
  within 20 days after receipt of ALL of the following:
            · Purchase Order (25% of contract amount due upon delivery of submittal documents)
            · Complete set of contract drawings, including ALL trades
            · Complete set of contract specifications, including ALL sections
            · ALL addenda, including ALL trades
            · Electronic CAD files of site plan(s) and floor plan(s) 
            · CAD FILES 2000-2004 FORMAT - Preferred
            · Any cost for CAD files or contract documents to be covered by others.
 

Fire Marshal Comments - Field Inspection Notes prior to contract award

1- due to fire alarm system malfunction: Implement a Fire Watch. Hire a private security company to implement the fire watch. Provide company information to my attention.
2- provide written notification to all building occupants informing them of fire alarm system out of service and fire watch implementation. Post notice in a conspicuous location.
3- provide a written plan of action and request emergency replacement approval. You can sent it to my attention.

After the emergency fire alarm system replacement is achieved: 
1- a building/fire alarm company representative shall request a 100percent fire alarm test inspection from our office.
2- Plans shall be submitted to our office for review.
