Scope Of Work
Concrete Lifting at Underground Parking Ramp
Minneapolis, MN
Problem
A sunken concrete drive lane leading to an underground parking ramp in Downtown Minneapolis was in need of repair. The uneven driving surface created two large bumps as you entered the parking ramp. Shutting down the ramp for repair would cause heavy disruption the building’s daily operations.
Solution
Polyurethane foam injections offer a quick and effective repair method for lifting and stabilizing the concrete slabs. High-pressure injections force the polyurethane foam deep into the soil base stabilizing loose soils, filling all voids and lifting the concrete back to a level position.
Project Outcome
Strategically placed, 5/8 inch holes were drilled in the sunken concrete slabs. Access ports were installed and the expanding polymer was injected under each slab. After the area was leveled and stabilized, the holes were patched and the area was ready for use immediately. To avoid disruption to the entrance to the parking ramp, crews completed this repair at night.
