Scope Of Work
The Yerba Buena Island (YBI) Ramps Improvement Project paralleled the design and construction of the Self-Anchored-Suspension bridge portion of the San Francisco Oakland Bay Bridge. The YBI ramps Improvement project proposed to replace the existing on- and off-ramps on the eastern portion of YBI, while considering the SFOBB SAS transition structure.
Mr. Carr (prior to founding Extant) prepared the environmental noise study and the Caltrans noise study for the project. This included characterizing the background environment, evaluating land uses, establishing representative receiver locations, and performing computerized modeling of the existing and proposed alternative on-and off-ramp configurations (using TNM 2.5; and proprietary noise models). The setting, methodology, and findings were incorporated into Caltrans Noise Study Report along with the project level Environmental Impact Report noise section for the Yerba Buena Island Ramps Improvement Project.
