Home Street Residences, a new construction, affordable housing building located at 1017 Home Street, Bronx NY is now complete. The 63-unit building will serve a variety of low-income seniors and families, with 30% of units to be set aside for formerly homeless seniors. Residents have access to an on-site laundry, gym, and both indoor and outdoor recreation space. The ground floor contains an arts center for use by the community at large, programmed by local nonprofit DreamYard. A contemporary design features a unique structural system with concrete precast flooring, that includes offsite modularized steel-stud framing system and extra insulation with LEED-Gold certification achieve a highly efficient and economical building.
