Susquehanna-Roseland Electric Reliability Transmission Project - Sussex County

Project Information

Project Location:
Sussex County, NJ
Status:
Completed
Structure Type:
Power Generation & Distribution

Scope Of Work

The Kiewit and Henkels & McCoy team (Kh&m) was selected to construct the New Jersey portion of the new Susquehanna to Roseland Electric Reliability Transmission Project.

The project consists of the installation of a double circuit 500kV transmission line running approximately 145 miles from the Susquehanna Switching Station near Berwick, Pa., across the Delaware River, to the PSE&G Switching Station in the vicinity of Roseland, N.J. Kh&m was awarded the New Jersey portion (approximately 45 miles) of the S-R Project, which will be built, owned and operated by PSE&G.

The new transmission line will largely be built within the existing transmission right of way of the existing Roseland to Kittatinny 230kV transmission line. The scope of work includes removing the existing transmission line, including removal of approximately 200 230kV lattice steel structures and one 500kV lattice steel structure.

The Kh&m team is responsible for access roads, erosion and sedimentation controls, foundation installation, steel pole and lattice structure erection, conductor and shield wire stringing, hardware and insulator installation, and fiber optic splicing.
