Scope Of Work
Banneker served as the Developer and Construction Manager for the Deanwood Community Center and Library, the largest recreation center ever built in the District of Columbia.
This 63,000 square foot recreation center and library is located in the Deanwood neighborhood of the District of Columbia. The facility consists of co-located functions of the Department of Parks and Recreation and Libraries. It includes an indoor swimming pool, locker rooms, gymnasium, game room, library, childcare facilities, senior services area, kitchen, multi-purpose facilities and outdoor football field. Banneker oversaw the completion of the design, managed the procurement process for the general contractor, oversaw construction of the facility and managed the facility for six months until the District hired permanent staff to run the facility. This is the largest recreation center ever built in and is LEED Silver Certified.
