Scope Of Work

CSC was the Prime Contractor for this project located at the Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park in between Walker and Catoosa Counties, in Georgia. The project consisted of the rehabilitation and resurfacing of approximately 3.3 miles of LaFayette Road, 0.1 miles of the Visitor Center Access Road, and various pull-offs and parking areas. CSC performed asphalt pavement milling, select full-depth asphalt and concrete pavement replacement, asphalt pavement widening, Superpave asphalt concrete pavement overlay, shoulder reconditioning, drainage improvements, concrete bridge repairs, stone masonry repairs, traffic signal replacement, and other miscellaneous work. The asphalt mix was customized to the needs of the client, including brown river rock dredged from the Tennessee River to give the finished mat a brown color. The administration of the contract was under the Federal Highway Administration — Eastern Federal Lands Highway Division, and the project owner was the National Park Service.
