Scope Of Work
The existing subway structure was replaced by the new station, which was extended to accommodate the longer trains used today. This required extensive underpinning of the active subway tunnels to ensure minimal impact to street traffic and walkways in Battery Park during construction. Work included the station platform and mezzanine levels and the approach tunnel and tie-in to the existing tunnel.
