Scope Of Work
The new Kenai River Bridge allows for efficient traffic flow and pedestrian access during busy summer months. The bridge replacement began with the construction of a steel girder bypass bridge and a sheet pile cofferdam to aid in the removal of the existing concrete pier and the construction of a new pier. The new pier and abutments support six steel girders, a concrete deck with asphalt surface, bike lanes, and a vista point. This project spanned two severe winters with major ice jams and was still completed six months ahead of schedule.
