Scope Of Work
This project involved alternately closing and reconstructing two 5-mile segments of a main highway running through metropolitan St. Louis. Granite was able to complete the work with minimal disruption to traffic and finished the first segment ahead of schedule, despite record-setting rainfall. The project completely reopened to traffic three weeks earlier than required by the contract. In 2007 it was ranked eighth in the annual “Top 10 Roads” by Roads & Bridges magazine. The project won more than 15 national awards, including 2007 Practical Design Award of Excellence from ACEC of Missouri.
