Scope Of Work

The office remodel project for Van Dyken Mechanical involves a complete renovation of the former office space and a conversion of adjacent warehouse into a streamlined office headquarters.  Van Dyken Mechanical, Grand Valley Automation and Mechanical Testing Services Inc. are three businesses that occupy the building. The office has been re-designed to house these three distinct companies to allow them to collaborate between their service specialties and optimize spaces that were designed for their needs.

Interior finishes like polished concrete floors, wood panel walls and ceilings flow smoothly throughout the newly created spaces. Office and collaboration rooms have glass slider doors. Cafe and kitchen areas feature quartz and blackened steel counters. Conference rooms offer a unique color scheme lighting with exposed mechanical work above meeting rooms. The rest rooms feature showers and ceramic tile.

The exterior of the office underwent an extensive face lift and gained light with new glass entries, clerestory windows, along with metal panel accents and repainting. The surrounding parking lot was expanded while fresh native landscaping was added to complement the new façade.

Project Challenges
In order to continue uninterrupted operations, our team completed areas in phases and gradually moved employees into available spaces. The renovation was performed in three phases with Grand Valley Automation office space and cafeteria finished first, followed by phase two Van Dyken office space and finally phase three which involved the main lobby and reception area along with human resources, rest rooms and office space for Mechanical Testing Services Inc.
