Scope Of Work
In Martin County, Florida, ASTALDI Construction Corporation assisted Martin County Utilities in building expansions to the Tropical Farms Water Treatment Plant (WTP) and Waste Water Treatment Plant (WWTP). The Tropical Farms Project included both water and wastewater treatment plants at one regional location in Martin County. The Tropical Farms Treatment Plant was chosen as an example of ASTALDI's innovative and successful construction practices because it encompasses both water and wastewater in one project site. This project expanded the facilities service capacity and upgraded the facility using modern technology to meet treatment goals.
The expansion of the Water Treatment Plant increased the capacity from 1.5 million gallons per day (MGD) to 5.5 MGD while changing the method of water treatment.
The expansion of the Wastewater Treatment Plant increased the capacity from 0.84 MGD to 5.0 MGD.
