Scope Of Work
The Mercer II was a challenging project in several ways. This is an extension of an existing complex and the railing style needed to be replicated in style and color while re-designing for a better connection detail for esthetics, new building codes, as well as value. Shawn Scott and Jim Rochlin of Synergy Construction brought us in early in the project to help work out some elements of the building envelope interface. We were able to come up with a design that satisfied all of the requirements.
One of the unusual aspects of this installation was a fascia mount detail into cantilevered concrete balconies. Due to the relatively thin balcony edge we had to get a custom attachment designed and engineered to allow only one fastener per bracket to maintain edge distance.
In addition to all of the exterior railing at The Mercer II we also furnished 10 loft interiors with Infinty Glass Railing. This included custom Infinity post brackets to mount on floating tread stairway.
The project turned out great. We have returned once for a warranty issue with a gate that was promptly repaired.
