Scope Of Work
This project is designed to update the 111,000 SF, 30-year-old Lyme/Old Lyme High School to meet the State of Connecticut’s “Renovate-As-New” program and solve several serious functional issues that have plagued the building since it was originally constructed. The building is expected to receive LEED Silver certification and includes a 120-well bore field for a geothermal system that will heat and cool the academic wing.
The 14,000 SF of additions includes a secure administrative area as well as a new student commons/cafeteria, serving as a link between the two wings. Construction will be performed while the building remains fully operational. The project includes replacement of all HVAC and electrical systems, a new digital building management system, enhanced commissioning, new technology, data and security systems, new roofs and replacement of the existing metal panel exterior wall system with new efficient brick composite wall construction.
