Scope Of Work
One of the top high schools in metro Atlanta, Wheeler High School has an enrollment of close to 2,300 students. The $20 million addition and renovation project is being funded by the Cobb County SPLOST Program. A complex project, the additions were erected within inches of the existing and occupied facilities using 20 feet precast panels. This required a tremendous amount of coordination of staff and materials.
Once the move to the new facility (summer 2013) is complete, demolition on the remaining parts of the old building will take place. The new facilities consist of the construction of a two-story classroom addition to house 49 instructional units, administration, guidance offices, cafeteria, and kitchen. There will be a net increase of eleven instructional units.
