Scope Of Work
Southway is working with Osprey Property Company, Soto Architecture, and Studio K on a new project at 22 Light Street also known as The Lanahan Building. It was originally constructed in 1905 as a “heavy warehouse” for liquor distillers the Hunter Rye Company. It was destroyed in a fire 1904 and rebuilt in 1905 with its construction design being intentionally fireproof. During prohibition the building was used as The Baltimore Oriole Cafeteria providing cheap meals to Baltimore citizens during the depression era. This building will now provide affordable housing and is an adaptive reuse and renovation project, converting the existing building into 40 apartment units.
