Scope Of Work

Over a century ago, the building at 1245 East Washington Avenue was the home of Gisholt Machine Company, one of Madison’s largest manufacturers. Now, it has been completely transformed for Shopbop, a high-end, international, online fashion retailer. The space includes 48,000 square feet of office space and photo studio, and 162,000 square feet for manufacturing and shipping. During the remodel, special attention was paid to maintaining the architectural integrity of the space as much as possible. This included exposing the original roof and ceiling structures, and incorporating some original paint colors into the new design. The end result is an award-winning space that reflects Shopbop’s modern style while honoring the building’s historical importance.
