Scope Of Work
Tremain Partnership implemented a remodel of the
Shirley Chapman Sholom Home East, located in St. Paul, Minn., as a means to add nursing beds. The goal of this renovation was to provide added care for the residents that call the Shirley Chapman facility home.
The project involved remodeling of the second, third and fourth floors of the post-tensioned concrete building. Sixteen new nursing beds were added, providing four additional short-term care units to the 2nd floor, four additional long-term units on the 3rd floor and eight long-term units on the 4th floor. The challenge on this project was meeting the strict requirements outlined by the Minnesota Department of Health, while precisely following the Minnesota Building Code Standards and the State of Minnesota Fire Marshall.
The renovations took place while the facility was still occupied and no more than five beds could be decommissioned at a time. This required four phases of construction. Working with the architect and design team members, Prime General Contractors LLC ensured minimal renovation disturbances and exercised the highest safety and quality standards for customer satisfaction.
