Our Story

Started by Bill and Verna Olson in 1954, Olson's Sewer Service originally provided maintenance service for homeowners with onsite sewage treatment systems. Just to make sure we didn't go unnoticed in the community, we painted our vacuum trucks pink, emblazoned with our slogan:

"Keep Your Sewer in the Pink!"

Becoming Olson's Sewer Service And Olson's Excavating Service.

Driven by a growing, happy customer base, we expanded our range of services to include:

  • Sewer line cleaning
  • System repairs
  • Onsite sewage treatment system installation

As the business grew, Bill's brothers, first John, then Dale, joined the team. Together with our expanded offering of services came a growing fleet of trucks and equipment - all featuring our trademark pink paint.

Current president, Jon Olson, began learning the business in 1972 while working part time, joining the company full time in 1981 after completing his education. Jon's sister, Lee Weigt, came on board in 1994 following several years in franchising, and corporate and small business marketing. Today, Lee serves as Vice President.

Olson's Sewer Service and Olson's Excavating Service currently employs 20-25 people and serves Anoka, Chisago, Isanti, Ramsey and Washington counties. Our entire team, including office staff, is trained and educated by the University of Minnesota and the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency in the area of onsite sewage treatment systems.

Today, the scope of our business has expanded to include a full range of excavating services. We make the expertise and equipment of a large firm available for projects of all sizes.
