Scope Of Work
Wenck served as the Construction Manager for the 76,000-square-foot building that cost $11.8 million and took 14 months to build.
The three-story, state-of-the-art facility features a combined City Council /County Board Room, Conference Rooms, Administrative Offices and storage. The new joint Government Center was completed on schedule and is the first combined city-county government center in the state of South Dakota.
The Brookings City & County Government Center was completed on schedule and well below budget, with nearly $400,000 in remaining contingency returned to the owner at the end of the project.
Wenck’s success with the Brookings City & County Government Center was largely the result of the strong working relationships formed between our project team and the local contracting community as well as city and county officials. Local officials were so impressed with the level of service Wenck provided that at the grand opening ceremony, our superintendent, Dan Volbert was declared an honorary “Jackrabbit” by Mayor Tim Reed.
