Our Story
A-1 Concrete Cutting & Demolition has developed a team of well trained and extremely qualified equipment operators and laborers. The field employees are trained in-house and are proficient in all aspects of the industry. Safety is paramount in all jobs that are undertaken. All of the laborers and shop employees carry a minimum OSHA 10 certification and all of the operators and foreman carry OSHA 30 certification. The in-house Safety Director carries OSHA 500 certification. The company is an NUCP certified DBE/SBE (Disadvantage Business Enterprise/Small Business Enterprise) contractor.
In 1987, the owners, Joe & Betty Monteiro, embarked on the journey of building the best service company in the concrete cutting & demolition industry. Beginning with 8 employees in a job trailer to a company with 75-100+ employees at times, the atmosphere of the 'Mom & Pop' shop still works today. Allowing employees to build on their strengths and interests has proven successful with a few original employees still with the company today.
Today, Christina Monteiro Brandt, with a degree in Marketing from the University of Arizona, has transitioned to another role as President of the family business and has implemented policies to improve customer service with increased efficiency using 21st century technology.
Corey Anderson came to A-1 Concrete Cutting & Demolition while serving in the US Marine Corps Reserves. Starting as a field employee, he expressed interests in estimating and project management. He is now an estimator in the sales department and supervises the concrete cutting, coring and saw & seal division, as well as collaborating with the demolition division.
