Scope Of Work

The Hilton Carlsbad $31,222,243 project involved the construction of a new 208,168 sq. ft. three-story hotel over a 77-parking space subterranean basement, and an adjacent 94,630 sq. ft. tri-level parking structure to accommodate an additional 261 vehicles. The hotel includes 215 lavish guest rooms, including several extended living suites with full service kitchens catering to long term guests. Supporting facilities constructed by Soltek include “Chandler’s” five-star restaurant, a 5,900 sq. ft. main ballroom, a central meeting room, board room, banquet kitchen, restaurant kitchen, grand lobby, lounge, and gift shop. The onsite 5,600 sq. ft. full-service luxury spa includes two laconiums (dry saunas), whirlpool jacuzzi hot tub spas, six treatment rooms, a nail salon, and relaxation lounge. Lush landscaping surrounds the entire grounds of the resort, including the swimming pool and hot tub areas.

A major feature in the Hilton Resort’s sustainable design concept is its landscaping plan, which features drought tolerant native plant materials, and large bio-retention basins which effectively capture and retain all rainwater on the site to eliminate the need for any type of storm drain structures. Other sustainable design features incorporated into the project include recycled flooring products, low water consumption toilet fixtures, and low VOC paint/coatings. Additionally, Soltek established a waste management program for the recycling of all concrete, cardboard, gypsum board, and metal products generated in the construction of the project as a means of contributing to the reduction of landfill waste.
