Scope Of Work
The Valero home office was initially designed to house the Ultramar Diamond Shamrock Corporation, but it was later redesigned to include the new parent company, Valero Energy. Located in northwest San Antonio, facility improvements included 400,000 square feet of office space, parking garages, and support buildings on a 148-acre site. Pape-Dawson assisted in developing a conceptual master plan and provided the utility design, parking and roadway improvement infrastructure design, drainage and grading plan, platting, topographic and tree surveying, and specifications and cost estimates. We also completed a traffic impact analysis and endangered species investigation for the development. The analysis included study boundary, trip generation, factors for adjustment of trip generation, trip distribution, traffic assignment, intersection and roadway capacity analyses, and study report.
When Valero Energy acquired Diamond Shamrock, Pape-Dawson was the civil engineer for the addition of 600,000 square feet of office space to house the combined workforce.
