Scope Of Work

Pape-Dawson provided civil engineering plans for the Quarry--a 460-acre mixed-use brownfield redevelopment project in San Antonio. We were responsible for planning, designing, and administering construction of utilities, streets, and drainage systems. The area is the site of a former limestone quarry, requiring extensive environmental investigation prior to development. This property currently contains several high-end residential developments, a major shopping center, a multifamily residential complex, senior citizen housing, church property, and the Quarry Golf Course.

Pape-Dawson designed the main drainage channels and several sources of irrigation water for the golf course, and calculated the cut and fill required for the grading plan. We were also responsible for obtaining national pollutant discharge elimination system stormwater permitting and permitting for the closure of an industrial landfill.

Pape-Dawson provided the groundwater dewatering design to remove any leachate generated by kiln dust encapsulated in a nonstandard landfill and supervised its construction. We continue to supervise long-term groundwater monitoring and regulatory reporting at this site.
