Scope Of Work
JE Dunn provided construction management services for the 95,700 SF Tom Thomas Law Enforcement Center, located adjacent to the existing courthouse and county administration building in Platte City, Missouri.
The first phase of work includes site utilities, relocation of two homes and the construction of new parking lots. Also, as part of this project, JE Dunn constructed a new church just a few blocks away from the site to replace the old one that was demolished. The 2-story, 145-bed county jail and new sheriff’s office provides 123 medium and maximum custody beds, a 12-bed work release unit, complete detention support facilities, including all sheriff’s office functions, intake, inmate processing, short term holding functions and sally port areas. The facility houses the entire Platte County Sheriff’s Department, and serves as a communications center for the surrounding community.
The second phase of the project consists of the demolition of the existing jail and the historic renovation of the courthouse. After the inmates were transferred to the new jail, the vacated jail space in the courthouse was renovated to create a new courtroom, jury assembly room and court clerk office space.
