Scope Of Work
Flatiron used a fleet of volumetric mixers to batch and place rapid strength concrete for runway resurfacing and light can replacement at the San Diego International Airport. Each light can required less than a yard of concrete, but the concrete needed to adequately cure and be ready for traffic each morning. Flatiron replaced 188 center line light cans and 98 touchdown zone lights. Using a combination of volumetric mixers and rapid strength concrete, Flatiron safely returned the runway over for use on time each morning.
