Scope Of Work

When the company mission is “to create optimized spaces in urban settings for the overall benefit of the community” you know the project is something special. Such was the case when Urban Commons, a real estate investment and development firm based in Los Angeles, asked Menemsha to renovate their Holiday Inn property in San Mateo, CA in close proximity to the San Francisco International Airport.

An 18-month project in four phases, the work started with renovating 63 rooms of a former Comfort Inn. All rooms received new windows, paint, carpet, lighting, PTAC units, restroom finishes, fixtures, and furniture. There was also a full exterior building and façade upgrade to the branding/imaging guidelines of Holiday Inn. This meant a new roofline, framed architectural pop-outs, stucco, and brick veneer. Phase Two involved building a corridor to connect three existing buildings followed by renovations of the lobby and restaurant in a second building and renovation of a third building. We think Bing Crosby and Fred Astaire would have approved.
