Scope Of Work

rand* completed an interior fit-out and storefront upgrade for this upscale men’s retail store at CityCenterDC over an 8-week schedule. Canali was founded as a family-run business of tailors in 1930s Italy and, over time, the family pioneered luxury menswear and grew an international brand. For its first location in the District, Canali required a high-end space that reflected the superior quality and detail that their own product embodies.

rand* was tasked with the delivery of the Canali space on a fast-track schedule, which was further hindered by contextual challenges. The store’s location beneath luxury condominiums, for instance, mandated a condensed work schedule with severe restrictions on noise. The team was also challenged with coordination of the Italian owner-specified vendor scopes into the trade sequence over the short timeline. Even still, the team completed the structural improvements, MEP modifications and all new interior finishes included in the original scope of work, as well as the storefront upgrades and exterior improvements that were added to the design during the build-out. The end product features high-end custom Italian millwork, stone flooring, and a re-finished storefront. The client was incredibly pleased with the overall experience and praised rand*’s due diligence, knowledge of the existing conditions and flexibility in providing build solutions to a complex design.
