Dustin’s involvement with the complete construction of the Faith Presbyterian Church located in Olney, Maryland, began early in the design and planning phase of the Project. This 8,000 SF multi-use facility, designed by Stan Ryder & Associates, is independently unique in that it is actually two separate buildings, divided by an 8” CMU firewall. From the outside however, the structure looks quite monolithic in construction and appearance.
The design consists of structural wood-framing and trusses supported by a conventional 4” concrete slab and associated 24” x 12” continuous footings. The exterior walls currently display vinyl siding, however, the foundation includes a built-in brick shelf in preparation for future application of brick veneer. The roof construction is a multi-gable design and utilizes a combination of scissor and flat trusses to achieve the proper roof line. The steeple was pre-fabricated placed in one piece by a crane.
