This new 102,705 SF Elementary School for Howard County Public School System features a geothermal water source heat pump system and is slated to achieve LEED Gold. The school was completed on a fast-track schedule of 11 months. This difficult site required 19 feet of fill in an existing swamp as well as soil cement. With a capacity of 600 students, this elementary school features outdoor classrooms and a wetlands observation area with a boardwalk pathway leading to a stormwater management pond.
