Scope Of Work

The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority is responsible for the operation and development of the Washington Dulles International Airport and Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport.  The development and management of large airport property is complicated by the fact they are highly regulated by federal, state, and county regulations.  EA is currently supporting Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority, under contract to Parsons Management Consultants, in the management and performance of environmental compliance activities at Washington Dulles International Airport and Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport airports.  To support environmental compliance, EA developed and hosts a web-based Environmental Management Mapping Tool (EMMT) that manages the airports’ natural resources (wetlands; streams; habitats; and rare, threatened, and endangered species) and tracks Capitol projects through the year 2015 and the impacts on these resources.  Impacts to resources equate to higher costs in project design and implementation. EMMT provides custom applications allowing users to query, perform spatial analysis, and create custom maps based on engineering designs of Capitol improvement projects and environmental data.  Visually seeing project impacts on resources before final design gives designers the option to change their design, thus saving money and resources in the long run.
