Scope Of Work
This was a major upgrade of the Chilled Water System at UMBC consisting of replacing all primary, secondary and thermal storage constant volume pumps in the main central plant with new variable primary and variable thermal storage pumps with frequency drives, along with associated electrical upgrades to facilitate the new power requirements of the new pumps. In addition, we replaced the existing motors and added variable frequency drives to all of the pumps in the buildings served by the central plant and replaced all three-way chilled water control valves with two-way control valves. Finally the entire Siemens chilled water control system had to be upgraded to perform under the new variable primary operating conditions.
