Scope Of Work
LA Fitness is the 2nd largest members-only fitness club within the United States. They were founded in 1984 with the goal of providing the general public with access to the latest innovative exercise programs previously enjoyed in a few select markets. LA Fitness offers classes, equipment and trained personnel to help their members reach their goals. They were one of the first chain fitness clubs to be open and available to their members 7 days a week. LA Fitness was also one of the first in the industry to offer childcare for the duration of their member’s workout. They collectively had $1.2 billion in revenue during 2011 from their 600+ clubs located in the United States and Canada.
The new LA Fitness facility comfortably handles 783 people. Carlson Construction enthusiastically lead the site development including the architectural, interior design, mechanical and plumbing infrastructure.
The enormous fitness facility incorporated multiple design challenges. Some of the exercise stations included:
Full size basketball court
31 bike spinning room,
Extensive open layout aerobics room,
Vast weight room,
In-ground lap pool with three lanes.
